Does dna leave the nucleus in protein synthesis?
DNA carries the central instructions for protein synthesis in the cell. DNA carries genes that are encoded and transferred to RNA molecules. These RNA molecules leave the nucleus (in animal cells) and are translated into functional proteins.

About Protein Synthesis
Protein synthesis is how cells build proteins. Sometimes it refers only to protein translation but usually refers to a multi-step process beginning with amino acid synthesis and transcription of nuclear DNA into messenger RNA, which then turns into input to translation.
