Does drifting damage the car?
It will all come down to how the car is set up. If it is set up for stuff like you are talking about then you should be fine, but if it is not you run the risk of causing some major damage that you will have to fix. Another thing to take into account are the tires. If the tires are not rated for what you are doing, or are in moderate to poor condition. ChaCha

About Drifting
Drifting is a driving technique in which the driver intentionally over steers to spin out the rear end around a turn. The loss of traction of the back tires is achieved when the rear end slides out further then the front. This is called a drift because the car appears to drift through the turn. The driver is controlling all of these factors and many consider it an art form due to its complex nature. Drifting is also a popular motor sport in which the driver has to navigate a turn based course while exploiting each turn with a drift. What originated in the sharp turns of Japans mountains has spread across the world. Drifting is now a heavy followed motor sport. The popularity of drifting has inspired the tuning of cars to increase the ability to drift. Suspensions, tires, and cooling systems must be upgraded if one wants to produce a successful drift car.
