Does google+ require a gmail account?
Google+ is a social networking service operated by Google Inc. The service launched on June 28, 2011, in an invite-only testing phase. There is nothing stating that you need a gmail account for the program. Thanks for using ChaCha!

About Google+
Google+ is a social networking site from Google which was unveiled on June 29, 2011. It uses a similar design to Facebook but adds new feature like 'Circles' that organize your friends into usable groups. Despite being open by invitation only, it went over capacity within the first 24 hours of release to the public.
