Does Mars spin in a different direction of Earth?
No. Earth's rotation is the rotation of the solid Earth around its own axis. The Earth rotates towards the east. As viewed from the North Star Polaris, the Earth turns counter-clockwise. Like the rest of the planets (except Venus), Mars rotates in a counter clockwise direction also. Standing on the equator, the equatorial rotation velocity is 869 km/h. ChaCha away!
