Cancer is defined as an uncontrolled growth of a group of cells in the body. It can have devastating affects. Some cancers are manageable and even curable, others are terminal. Nicotine is one of the most heavily used addictive drugs in the United States. Through its delivery mechanism, cigarettes and chewing tobacco, it is also the leading preventable cause of disease, disability and death in the U.S, accounting for 90% of lung cancer cases, or 38,000 deaths per year. It is illegal in most U.S. states to sell cigarettes and chewing tobacco to people under the age of 18. Some state have raised the age to 19.
