Does Pluto have longer or shorter planetary years than earth?
Pluto has a far greater distance to travel around the sun than earth because it is so far away. A year on any planet is just how long it takes the planet to get back to where it was. It takes earth 364 1/4 days to go one full revolution around the sun, whereas it takes Pluto 248 earth years to revolve around the sun, or 90,334 days. ChaCha!

About Pluto
At one time Pluto was the ninth planet in our solar system, that is until 2006. Scientists decided that Pluto was too small to be a planet, and was redesignated as a "dwarf planet," and is the largest body in the Kuiper Belt, which is a belt of asteroids that encircles the entire solar system. Pluto, depending on where it is in its orbit between 4.4 billion and 7.4 billion km from the sun.
