Does the calvin cycle and the light dependent reaction take place simultaneously and do they both require ATP?
The Calvin cycle uses ATP and NADPH to convert CO2 to sugar .It regenerates its starting material after molecules enter and leave the cycle. It is anabolic, using energy to build sugar from smaller molecules. Carbon enters the cycle as CO2 and leaves as sugar. ChaCha!
