Does the epidermal shot hurt?

Hurt Most people say that the numbing shot that they give you before the epidural hurts a little bit, but not nearly as much as the labor pains. They say that it feels like a little sting. When they place the actual epidural, you only feel a little pressure. Typically, epidurals are placed when the cervix is dilated to 4-5 centimeters and you are in true active labor.
