Does water in bottles expire?
Bottled water normally contains low numbers of harmless bacteria. However, if stored for prolonged periods at room temperatures, these bacteria can multiply rapidly. This is why most bottled water will have an expiration date. ChaCha on!

About Water
Water is by far the most important substance on Earth. Water covers over 70 percent of the planet and makes up between 50 and 75 percent of the human body. In fact, it's one of the only things we are positive needs to be present for life to exist. When scientists look for life in our solar system and on exoplanets, they are looking for liquid water.
About Bacteria
Bacteria are single celled organisms found in every habitat on Earth, growing in soil, acidic hot springs, radioactive waste, water, and deep in the Earth's crust, as well as in organic matter and the live bodies of plants and animals. Some bacteria cause disease but others are essential to the human body. For example, bacteria in the digestion system, help in the healthful digestion of food. Sometimes trying to get bacteria out of one place in your body can cause problems in another.
