How are human beings and chimpanzees phylogenetically related?
Humans share something ridiculous like 95% or even more DNA with gorilla's so I imagine Chimps can't be too far off from that if not even more seeing how they are significantly smarter than gorilla's.

About Gorilla
Gorillas are the largest genus of primate, and are primarily vegetarians. They can be divided into two species and a few subspecies. Genetically speaking, after chimpanzees, gorillas are our next closest relatives in the animal world. Gorillas live only in African tropical and subtropical forests and their natural habitat covers a wide range of elevations. You can find them in the Albertine Rift mountain cloud forests and dense lowland forests, marshes and swamps at sea level.
