How big are hydrathe cells of the ectoderm have at their inner edges muscular projections called what?
The inner edge muscular projections of the ectoderm are called muscle tails. These lie along the length of the animal in the mesoglea. When they contract, the animal gets shorter. By contracting the muscle tails on one side only, the animal can bend in any direction.
