To make the best biscochitos, you will need 6 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 2 cups lard, 1 1/2 cups white sugar, 2 teaspoons anise seed, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup brandy, 1/4 cup white sugar and 1 tbsp ground cinnamon.
Sugar is a natural sweetener. The white crystalline stuff we typically find in restaurants and in the sugar jar at home is processed and refined. Sugar from the Sugar Cane plant is typically brown in color and has more of a caramel flavor.
