Solar Eclipse During a lunar eclipse, the earth is positioned directly between the moon and the sun. During a solar eclipse, the moon is directly between Earth and the sun. If the Moon's shadow happens to fall on Earth's surface at that time we see some portion of the Sun's disk eclipsed by the moon. ChaCha again soon!
