Adolf Hitler committed suicide by shooting himself on April 30, 1945. His wife Eva Braun took a cyanide capsule to do the same.

He led the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazi Party), and was the Chancellor of Germany from 1933 - 1945, and served as head of state, or Fuhrer, from 1943 - 1945. Hitler is best known for leading Germany during World War 2, his distinctive facial hair, and the Holocaust.
