How did countries involved in ww1 pay for it?

Most nations that participated in WW1 paid back on loans, including war bonds, over the course of many years. Germany had it's industrial sector occupied by the French to extract money for their war debts. Germany only finished paying off it's war debt to Britain in 2010. Thanks for using ChaCha!
