How did dr. pepper get its name?

Dr Pepper Dr Pepper name was given to honor Dr. Charles T. Pepper who was said to have concocted the drink. The drink was probably introduced to the public on a regular basis about 1885, was first bottled in 1886. ChaCha!

It was named out of spite for a druggist back in Virginia who had queered Charles Alderton's romance with the druggist's daughter.
