How did Kim Jong II dad become leader of N Korea?
Kim Il-sung became the leader of North Korea at first through Soviet intervention and then due to the backing of the Korean population which was supportive of his fight against Japanese occupation. In September 1945, Kim was installed by the Soviets as head of the Provisional People’s Committee.
