Mark Wahlberg, born Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg on June 5, 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American actor and rapper who is best known for his roles as Eddie Adams/Dirk Diggler in 'Boogie Nights,' Robert ''Bobby'' Shatford in 'The Perfect Storm,' Sean Dignam in 'The Departed,' and Terry Hoitz in 'The Other Guys.' He also had a music career as an early member of New Kids on the Block with his brother Donnie Wahlberg, and later rapped under the name ''Marky Mark'' before transitioning into a career in acting.
