(5/1/11) Osama Bin Laden, the terrorist leader responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks, has officially been shot/killed by U.S soldiers in Abbottabad, Pakistan. After almost 10 years of being in seclusion in the Middle East, his reign of terror has finally come to an end. Osama's body was buried at sea by U.S officials. Bin Laden was 54.

Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, was killed on May 1, 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan when an elite group of Navy Seals, under the watchful eye of Joint Special Operations Command, worked in conjunction with the CIA to storm Bin Laden's hideout. The attack was carried out under the cover of darkness and resulted in no American deaths/injuries. Bin Laden, and those with him, were killed in a firefight.

The group of 20-25 soldiers took no casualties while managing to kill Bin Laden and those with him. The U.S. confirmed Bin Laden's identity through a DNA comparison and later buried his body at sea, in accordance with Islamic traditions.
