How did plate tectonics form Mount Vesuvius?
Mt. Vesuvius formed from collision of 2 tectonic plates, the African & the Eurasian. The former was pushed beneath the latter, deeper into the earth. The crust material formed magma & the magma pushed upward & broke through, producing the volcano.
