How did some southern states respond to the Supreme Courts order to end segregation in the public schools in the 1950's?
Some southern states were resistant to desegregation. On May 22, 1954, the Little Rock School Board issued a statement saying that it would comply with the Court's decision, once the court outlined the method and time frame for implementation. Thanks!
