How did Sutton's chromosome theory help explain Mendel's law of segregation?
Mendel knew that certain factors where inherited from an organisms parents. He knew that one copy of a trait for something (such as flower color in pea plants ) came from the father and one from the mother. Sutton's chromosome theory explain how each trait was independently inherited - genes for each trait were carried on chromosomes.
