Along with showing voters what Republicans stood for, it showed voters what Democrats stood AGAINST as every Democrat candidate ridiculed the "Contract" for things like: Requiring all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply to Congress; Allowing the public to see Congress conducting its business.
