How did the cult of domesticity affected womens suffarage and why?
These women were expected to fulfill the roles of a calm and nurturing mother, a loving & faithful wife, a passive, delicate, & virtuous creature. They were to support their husbands in everything. This did not jive with suffrage and woman's rights.
