How did the day of the dead start?
Scholars trace the origins of the modern holiday "Day of the Dead" to indigenous observances dating back thousands of years, and to an Aztec festival dedicated to a goddess called Mictecacihuatl. These rituals go back perhaps 2500 to 3000 years ago.
