Holocaust The Holocaust was the genocide of approx 6 million Jews out of 9 million who resided in Europe. Approx 1mil children, 2mil women, 3mil men died. It was systematic state-sponsored murder by Nazi Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, throughout Nazi-occupied territory between 1933 and 1945. Nazi Germany used the term 'Final Solution' to refer to plan to annihilate the Jewish people. It is history's most extreme example of anti-Semitism.
