How did the national origins act of 1924 discriminate in favor of western Europe?
The National Origins Act not only banned the people of East Asia entirely, but set a quota of 2 percent for Europeans. It cut the yearly total to 164,000, heavily weighted in favor of those from northwestern Europe. ChaCha on all day long!
