How did the Vietnam war effect America and its people?
In 1966 President Johnson lied about actions in Vietnam and because of this he lost favor with the American public. Therefore he didn't seek reelection in 1968. Before his injustices Americans had great trust in their leaders and in their government.

About Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was a Cold War conflict between the South Vietnamese Viet Cong and their Communist allies and North Vietnam and the U.S.-led anti-communist allies. The Vietnam War began November 1st, 1955 and ended on April 30th, 1975 with the fall of Saigon, the South Vietnamese capitol.
