Elohim is the usual word for "god" in the Hebrew Bible, referring with singular verbs both to the one God of Israel, and also in a few examples to other singular pagan deities. It is also the plural form meaning "Gods"

About judaism
Judaism is the oldest monotheistic religion, forming over 3,000 years ago in the area of modern Israel. Jews, as adherents are known, are an ethnoreligious group - that is, a Jew is both someone of Israeli descent AND someone who adheres to the tenets of Judaism. In 2010, the world population was estimated at 13.4 million Jews; 42% live in Israel, 42% live in the U.S. and Canada. The remaining 16% mostly live in Europe and Russia. There are three major branches of Judaism today: Orthodox Judaism, Conservative Judaism, and Reform Judaism.
