How do bactericidal and bacteriostatic antibiotics work?
Antibiotics are drugs used to treat bacterial infections. Antibiotics work by stopping bacteria from reproducing (bacteriostatic) or by destroying bacteria (bactericidal). Antibiotics don’t work at all against infections caused by viruses and Fungi.
