How do doctors clense out the body to get rid of a miscarriage?
After a miscarriage, if the fetus is contained in the uterus, the doctor will perform a dilation and curettage (D&C). It's a minor surgical procedure and usually recommended if severe pain, heavy bleeding or infection are experienced.

About Miscarriage
Miscarriage is the term for losing a pregnancy before term. It usually happens spontaneously and often the exact reasons are unknown. Sometimes in very early miscarriages the mother may not even know that she was pregnant. About 10 to 20% of known pregnancies end in early miscarriage. A miscarriage is the body’s way of saying that the fetus was abnormal and not growing correctly so the uterus expels the embryo.
