How do ducks stay afloat?

Anonymous

Answer

There's a gland that produces oil near the duck's tail. As the duck preens itself, the oil is spread out over it's feathers & coats them making them waterproof. Because the feathers are waterproof, they trap air & help to keep the duck afloat.
