About Paramecia
Paramecia is the plural form of paramecium, a group of unicellular ciliate protozoa, they range from about 50 to 350 nanometers long. Cilia (things that look like hair and aid in locomotion) cover the body and help it to move at up to 12 body lengths a second. A different type of cilia lines the mouth part of the organism and allows it to take in food. Paramecia are usually found in fresh water and are common in scum.
