How do police track you down on your phone?
Police can subpoena the caller ID data for calls and text messages and use that information to access your account information to determine your identity. For physical tracking land line phones have the address of the phone associated with the account as do cell phone accounts, however cell phones can also be triangulated using GPS to find where a cell phone is physically located at any time.
