How do you get the pepper in the pepper ham?

Clean the ham with cold water, you may want to trim off some of the fat, sometimes there is a layer on the whole ham. I generally don't trim, no one trimmed in the old days .Pre-heat the oven to about 285 or 300 if it needs to go a bit faster. ChaCha
