Lincoln To replace shocks on a Town Car: Turn off the air suspension. Locate the switch in the trunk on the left. This switch has to be in the off position before raising the back end of the vehicle. Jack the left side of the car up. This will provide easier access. You can also remove the wheel. Locate the shock between the wheel well and the fuel tank. It will be located next to the air bag. Unscrew the top and bottom bolts holding the shock in place.
