How do you search for people on the Google+ app?
Google Plus has limited functionality, but indexes the entire profile based on text. You can enter any keyword on the profile, including name, and the search tool will return a list of users. As of this writing, they don’t appear to offer a specific way to limit the scope of search to particular profile fields.

About Google+
Google+ is a social networking site from Google which was unveiled on June 29, 2011. It uses a similar design to Facebook but adds new feature like 'Circles' that organize your friends into usable groups. Despite being open by invitation only, it went over capacity within the first 24 hours of release to the public.
