How do you solve using elimination by addition in Algebra?

Rate This Answer

Algebra The addition method of solving is also called the method of elimination. Line two equations over one another so that one cancels the other. For example: 2x+y=9, over 3x–y=16. Draw an "equals" bar under the system, and add down. This gives you 5x=25.
