How do you take a silencer out of an aftermarket muffler?

Note any tabs on the outside of your silencer that rest against the tailpipe. These tabs will be secured with metal screws to hold the silencer in place. Mark tab holes with a black Sharpie marker and remove the silencer. Drill holes through these marks with your cordless drill and drill bit. Often, the silencer manufacturer includes the appropriate-sized bit in the packaging. Drill only through the inner wall of the exhaust pipe. Place the silencer back in its proper position. ChaCha!
