How does a OB/GYN test to see if you can have a baby?
There are two types of pregnancy tests that an OB/GYN can use. One tests the blood for the pregnancy hormone, hCG. You need to see a doctor to have a blood test. The other checks the urine for the hCG hormone. You can do a urine test at a doctor’s office or at home with a home pregnancy test (HPT).

About Pregnancy Test
A pregnancy test is a convenient and accurate way to see if someone is pregnant. At-home tests are performed by the woman urinating on the stick, which intern determines if the hormone (HCG) is present. If HCG is detected, then the pregnancy test will reveal it either by a color change, or digitally depending on the type of test. Most tests are accurate 99% to 100% of the time, but there are still conditions which can produce a false negative.
About Pregnancy Tests
Pregnancy tests are tests which detect a certain hormone called the ''human chorionic gonadotropin hormone,'' or hCG, in the urine or blood. This hormone only occurs in the body when a woman is pregnant.
