How does a racer get to race in Indy 500?
Throughout the years the Indy 500 race has used a number of qualifying procedures. The current four-lap (ten-mile) qualifying distance was first introduced in 1920, and has been used every year since 1939. Drivers line up by speed rank in the order of the day they qualified. ChaCha!
