How does a valley glacier form?
A valley glacier usually forms in areas of high elevation in areas that get more snowfall than could melt in the summer. Each year, the snow builds up on top of the older snow and it eventually compacts into ice. This ice then digs out a cirque in the mountain it forms on. ChaCha!
