How does chemo get rid of leukemia but still makes people really sick?
Chemo drugs are very strong. They kill any cell that is growing (dividing) fast, whether it's a cancer cell or not. This can cause people to feel sick. A doctor could lower the dose because of the sick feeling. ChaCha!

About Leukemia
Leukemia is a type of cancer that involves the blood and tissue that forms the blood and bone marrow. The cause of leukemia is unknown, but certain risk factors can cause it. Some risk factors include exposure to radiation, which include surviving an atomic bomb blast, diagnostic x-rays and radiation therapy. Other risk factors are smoking, benzene, chemotherapy and even Downs syndrome.
