How does climate change threaten biodiversity?
Climate change is having an impact on biodiversity, and is projected to become a progressively more significant threat in the coming decades. Loss of Arctic sea ice threatens biodiversity across an entire biome and beyond. The related pressure of ocean acidification, resulting from higher concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, is also already being observed.

About Climate Change
Climate change is a change in the earth's climate over a period of time. Though climate change can be caused by changes in the earth's orbit and other global events, 97 out of 100 scientists believe that current changes in Earth's climate, specifically global warming trends, are caused by man-made activity, particularly the burning of fossil fuels. (Proceedings of the Nat'l Academy of Scientists, 2010)
