How does lead get into the body?
You may be exposed to lead by breathing (inhalation), eating/drinking (ingestion) or by skin contact (dermal contact). However, only very small amounts of lead can get into your body through dermal contact. Inhalation and ingestion of lead-contaminated dust and soil are the main ways.
