How does lennie's beinging the puppy into the bunkhouse emphasize what has already been established about him? In the book Of Mice and Men by john steinbeck?

Of Mice and Men George explains that Lennie is the way he is because of an injury sustained by a horse kick in the head, but of course he's mentally retarded which is the real reason. The acquisition of the puppy shows that Lennie has a warm heart and the need to take care of something other than himself. His fierce protectiveness and caring of the puppy only backs that up even more strongly. Thanks for using ChaCha!
