Someone can get HIV/AIDS by having unprotected sex or sharing needles with an infected person. You can not get HIV/AIDS from saliva, tears, sweat, feces or urine, but it is possible for an HIV-infected mother to pass the virus directly before or during birth, or through breast milk.
