How does the space race relate to cold war tensions between the Us and Ussr?
The space race was a way of the USA and USSR to show their technological power. When the Soviets launched the Sputnik satellites the reaction in the U.S. and around the world was astonishment and some measure of fear. This spurred on the growth of NASA and the space industry. It became a technological war of it's own. ChaCha!
