Of Mice and Men The title Of Mice and Men is taken from a Robert Burns poem titled To a Mouse. The line is The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men, Gang aft agley, An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain, For promis'd joy! This means that the best laid plans often go wrong and leave us in pain and grief rather than making us happy. George and Lennie had a wonderful dream of their own ranch, but in the end George's love for Lennie brings them to Lennie's death. ChaCha again soon!
