How does the understanding of covalent bonding and the chemistry of compounds help scientists increase food supplies?

Rate This Answer

All food are chemicals, and the way we get energy from them are the covalent bonds they have. If we fully understood covalent bonding, then we could develop catalysts that would reduce energy required to make ammonia for fertilizer. If we could fertilize our crops with less energy input it would dramatically aid in solving climate change and allow us to produce more food.
